10% of our profit pays school fees
Shule Yako — Swahili for “your school” — is Nyaliko's education program. It gives interest-free school-fee loans to the farming families we buy from.
Families pay us back after harvest, when they actually have money. School fees normally come due all at once, which is why children get sent home. This way they stay in class. The money that comes back is lent out again, so it helps the next family.
We fund it with 10% of our gross profit on every order, at no cost to you. Buyers who want to do more can add an optional 25¢, 50¢, or $1 per kg on top.
